SEATTLE HAND

Seattle Hand is a hand surgery practice based in Seattle, Washington, offering specialized care for hand and wrist injuries. As part of my early career, I led the full UX and UI design for the website, with a goal of creating a calming, trustworthy, and professional experience for patients. I also created custom hand drawings and curated all supporting imagery to give the site a uniquely human and approachable feel.

Problem

The original Seattle Hand website was outdated, text-heavy, and lacked a modern or reassuring visual identity. The practice needed a refreshed digital presence that reflected the care, precision, and personal attention of their services. Patients often visited the site during moments of stress, so the experience needed to be calm, clear, and informative.

Design Approach

  • Built a minimalist UI with generous whitespace, clean typography, and subtle animations to ease anxiety

  • Used original hand illustrations to make the content feel more personal and less clinical

  • Structured information hierarchically to guide users through procedures, provider bios, and appointment booking

  • Ensured mobile-friendly design with responsive breakpoints for all screen sizes

  • Selected and refined photography to maintain visual harmony and patient trust
